We know how important our children’s health and well-being is for all that attend Creative Minds and recognise the importance of this service in Early Childhood. There was an opportunity to work alongside Mater and we are proud to have an Enrolled Nurse in our service for our families, children and Educators.

We will have a collaborative service-learning approach in which Rachel nursing and the educators will establish positive relationships with families to foster children’s healthy development. Rachel will be  implementing family events to address the health needs of young children and further support their educational success.

Rachel will be able to focus on health education and its solutions to issues related to or affecting children’s health while educators focus on strategies and solutions to challenges in the classroom. This interdisciplinary partnership relates to authentic scenarios that early childhood educators encounter—consultations with other professionals and utilization of available resources to support children and families. Within the area of health promotion for families, Rachel will identify six areas of wellness—emotional health, nutrition, sleep, activity/exercise, safety, and disease prevention—that contribute to a healthy start to each childs wellbeing.

We look forward to having this added service to our centre and providing our families with the support, information and needs for them on an individual basis.
