The children who attend our Borobi Studio (children aged 2-3 years of age) have recently shown a great interest in farm animals.  As we listen to them playing with the horses and cows, we can hear lots of conversations taking place with the occasional animal noise being made.

Our educators are guided by the The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF), where the curriculum states that children become confident and involved learners.  As you can see in this picture, that is exactly what is happening for these two year olds – they are curious and enthusiastic participants in their learning.  The children are able to use processes such as exploration, collaboration and turn taking while developing dispositions such as curiosity, creativity, enthusiasm and imagination.  Who would of thought that playing with farm animals could involve so much in-depth learning?
