Building blocks are a great resource to assist children in developing problem solving skills.  As the Australian Curriculum (Early Years Learning Framework) says, ‘children bring new mathematical understandings through engaging with problem solving.’  It also says that spatial sense and pattern are two powerful mathematical ideas that children need to become numerate.

Even at a young age, such as these two infants, children are developing these mathematical skills.  They are working alongside each other developing their problem solving skills as they endeavour to build with the blocks, using the large base.

If you are looking for a child care centre that is easily accessible from areas such as Willow Vale, Ormeau, Jacobs Well or Pimpama, then feel free to give us a call.  We would love to show you around our Jiburr Studio which not only cares but educates our infants aged from 6 weeks – 2 years.
